These are not a true lace-up boot, but really just galoshes with glued on eyelets for laces. The front does not open up, as the laces are there just for decoration. I wanted a true lace-up boot for ease of putting on over pants, not a cheap imitation.

I get a lot of compliments on these boots because they’re a little more stylish and normal-looking than the typical rain boot (at least, the typical rain boots that are under the hundred dollar mark). They are pretty comfortable to wear, and I like that they’re tall because it adds extra protection in case I splash or my umbrella doesn’t cover enough area (I’m a moderately tall person so the calf portion of my pants always get wet in the rain). The only objections I have are that the laces provide more maintenance for cleaning and that the boots are a little too spunky (I have a baby face so the image of tall, black, and laces doesn’t quite fit :/).

Bought these as a present for my best friend. She loves them. They’re stylish and are tall enough on her (petite woman) that it keeps all the rain off her pants. The shoes seem true to size and the shaft is slender, but with room for your pants. Great buy.

These boots are really cool and the lace detail is rather stylish but. . . . they ran too small. I ordered a 9 (and am true to size w/a narrow foot) and my bare foot with out a sock had no wiggle room at all. Luckily, the deal and free shipping was great and I will give it to my teenage stedaughter who will absolutely love them. Sadly, a 10 was not as steeply discounted as the one I got. Sigh. . . .

These boots not only go with so many outfits, but they are truly rainproof to the knee. Exactly what I expected them to be.
